Does anybody know that Wave has a disadvantage for showing phone numbers in the phone book while a call is ON? When I went to a shop to buy Wave, salesman told me that when try to view a phone number while another call is ON, the current call disconnects & the selected number dials and Samsung has stopped production of Wave until fixing this issue & some other issues. Is that true? I don't know if he was trying to divert me to another phones that he had in stock. Anyway, I just want to go for Wave if this issue does not exist or got resolved.

man wt was the real problem, does the call get ended or.... wt was the price then??????
, mumbai, on Nov 11, 2010 12:42 PM
There is no such problem, the salesman was definitely diverting you and the production was not stopped, it was on halt as they had to wait for the screens which were in very much demand and low in supply.

Yesterday I was reading "the best touch screen phones" and it mentioned Wave II S8530 as one of them. But today I find Wave Wave S8500 instead of that. It there any change of mind, please make it clear?
, Bangaluru, on Jan 04, 2011 03:34 PM
this model no more available in market. Samsung replaced this model with S8530

Where can get this one? I am looking for one and the dealer in Chennai say that the product has been discontinued as the next version S8530 has come. I am not all that impressed by the new version as much as the older one.

After much deliberation and online research, I finally took the plunge and bought the Samsung Wave a week ago. Its got an amazing camera, records HD (720p) videos perfectly, even in low light, is speedy and has the best screen I've seen on a phone at this price range. Bada OS is just 6 months old so the apps are limited and alright, its no Android or iOS 4 but its still damn good enough. HD videos/movies run smoothly, the music player is good, the browser is not as good as Opera but still good enough. I only found the Widgets placement on the home screen a bit quirky. Call quality is awesome but people you'll call will hear ambient noise from around you. Love the messaging functionality, I tend to write really long SMSs so its perfect for me. WiFi performance was great, so browsing over WiFi was a breeze. Camera records HD videos and takes 5 MP snaps with ease and with good detail and less noise, especially outdoors. Pros - Awesome screen, fast processor, great camera, good for watching/recording HD videos, call clarity and quality, good for music playing, No other phone as good as Wave under Rs 20,000 as of now Cons - Few apps, awful Samsung Kies pc software for managing the phone connected to a pc (Samsung should take a look at Nokia PC Suite, not perfect but so much better!), Browser not as good as Opera.

where did you buy it from?? at what price.

Hi there, Are there availability issues with Wave? I have checked with two Croma outlets in Delhi, and they say that Samsung is not sending them as there is some issue with Wave's touch. Wave users, please tell if it is something to be concerned about. Thanks Amit
, mumbai, on Nov 11, 2010 12:44 PM
No problem with the touch just they had screen availability issues.
, New Delhi, on Oct 19, 2010 03:33 PM
I bought my wave after a hell a lotta research a fortnight ago from Croma in Delhi. So far there are no issues. I believe it is value for money and is kinda allrounder - multimedia, good connectivity, gud camera, basic GPS, etc..so no regrets...
, Coimbatore, on Oct 22, 2010 03:46 PM
I have been using Wave for more than one moth. So far, No issues, It is a excellent mobile
, Coimbatore, on Oct 22, 2010 03:44 PM
Does it have Google Maps 3.0? I don't think So.
, mumbai, on Nov 11, 2010 12:44 PM
It doesn't has native google maps application, you can try the java version though.
, Kottayam, on Nov 10, 2010 07:22 PM
Guys i am planning to buy this Phone hz it.. Can any of the current wave users help me,hz the Music clarity, do it have any problem in performance, please help me here...Thanks Rony
, mumbai, on Nov 11, 2010 12:40 PM
The phone is simply great, as for music quality is very good, you might think of buying other pair of headset as the one bundled with it is good but not great. No problems with the phone yet, using it since last 2 months.

I am planning to buy a phone and I am confused between Experia X10 mini pro and samsung wave. My primary use of the phone would be net surfing and stock trading. Please tell me which phone should i purchase.
, New Delhi, on Aug 03, 2010 01:38 PM
Buy the Xperia X10 mini pro cause it has android OS which is a bit ahead of bada cause it is still in development and don't forget to update your phones firmware since the update will be to android 2.1 thus u will have a new interface + an hd video recording experience
, Delhi, on Aug 26, 2010 01:17 PM
Wave is an Excellent phone, i have personally checked it in the store. Screen is amaizing and processor is very fast. Browser is also good and Motion sensor games like car racing in 3D can be easily played. (Overall best phone in this price segment). With new open platform 'Bada' lots of applications will be in store soon.
, ghaziabad, on Oct 07, 2010 11:57 AM
u should go for nokia 5800 express music
, Mumbai, on Oct 17, 2010 05:23 PM
With the X10 mini, you'll get a small, 2.55-inch display at a resolution of merely 240x320 pixels, which is not good enough for Android (or even touchscreen use), as most of the Android applications aren't designed to work on such low-res screens. On top of that, it lags, too. With the Wave, however, you'll get a much larger screen of 3.3 inches, a much higher resolution of WVGA (480x800), SuperAMOLED (you've got to see it to believe it), DivX/XViD support, and a snappy 1-GHz processor.

Samsung Wave is a great feature phone - its better suited for multimedia purposes than for net surfing though. Sony Xperia X10 MiniPro's best feature is that it runs Android OS. With a separate QWERTY keyboard, you get to use all its screen for browsing. Plus it breezes through the net even on its standard Android webkit based browser. If browsing and facebook/twitter/youtube/stocks/gun-running is your thing... Xperia is just the thing you need. Samsung Wave is an excellent phone, but its browser is new and buggy. In all other areas - camera, speed, display, multimedia capability, the Wave gives you more bang for the buck. But at the given price, Xperia X10 MiniPro is an outstanding phone & runs Android smoothly. Check out if its got a newer version of Android now though - last time I checked, it was running version 1.6, so newer apps for Android will not run on it. I recommend the X10 over Wave keeping your needs in mind.
, Lucknow, on Sep 19, 2010 12:14 AM
you should go for xperia x10 mini coz the web browsing in samsung wave is clumsy...
, Chennai, on Sep 04, 2010 08:35 PM
I would love to buy this phone but for Bada OS. Can we run Android instead of Bada OS ? Kindly let me know.
, meerut, on Sep 25, 2010 04:46 PM
yeah.. its easy.. get a cd-rom of android 2.2 from the market, install it on the phone by phone's in built cd drive, but remember to set first boot device as cd drive in bios setup.... look at u man... get a mirror.. or look at ur photograph for 5 minutes without laughing... by the way bada is fast, awesome, java apps can be easily installed. number of native apps is increasing day by day.. dont worry abt bada os.. seen the mirror??

Samsung is betting big on bada OS. It is conducting worldwide bada OS applications competition with $2,700,000 price amount to be won. This competition is intended to fill the Samsung Apps with lots of applications. Hope that happens...

It is one of the coolest phone i have ever came across. No offence to any one but Its superAMOLED display and touch is best in class even when compared to iPhone. Video recording of 720p is cool feature, even remains crystal clear on a 32" screen. However Camera is good but not awesome. One of the drawback of this phone has been said that its just a feature phone but mind it...Exchange Active Sync makes this phone as smart as possible. On the Application front, yes, it can be a risk coz there are just 300 application in Bada store right now. However the number is increasing at a very big rate as it has doubles in just a matter of 10 days. Don't know about about the long run but at price tag of 16700 INR its a total steal and it will be much cheaper from a week or 2 from now. If you are not a Iphone fanatic buy this one or any android, Ohhh! tht's uber cool OS, i am an avid fan, but its is much economical when compared to any Android with same features. I wanted to test HTC legend too before buying this phone but it was no where to be found in some parts of Delhi, hence, bought this and I'm lovin it :).
, Delhi, on Jul 08, 2010 05:52 AM
boy jatin who shd have waited for more android cells coming in market hitting ur range ..samsung corby android is also abt to come and off course the sony X10 mini pro ..so android os is always better then this bada..yes ur waves screen cant be matched thats a great screen but still for long run android is my pick.
, asdfg, on Jul 21, 2010 11:13 PM
