Motherboard 810 Mercury. It has USB 1.1 ports. inserted a usb 2.0 card in the pci slot and my pc stopped responding. when the card removed it works. i have xp pro sp2. pl help.

My system is having Celron D processor 2.4 GHz. My motherboard is Mercury 845GV/845GL chipset. When I boot my system I got some error saying " CMOS setting sre wrong". Then I choose the option "Load Best settings". From then I am facing the problem "Operating system missing".
Can you please guide me how to solve this problem.

WHAT I AM CONFUSED ABOUT IS THAT WHETHER THE MAC ID OF A PC GETS IMPRINTED ON TO A SAVED FILE?
AND IS IT POSSIBLE FOR THAT MAC ID TO BE KNOW BY A 3RD PERSON IF THAT PERSON GETS HOLD OF THOSE SAVED FILES FROM MY PC?

hi all,

a friend of mine is using a intel 915 motherboard with 2.8G P4...

the problem is that around 1half months of installing a AGP graphics card (geforce6 series) he is facing a piculiar problem....

when the comp is turned on ... the NIC shows 'network cable unplugged'... & does not connect....
on disabling & enabling the NIC it works fine for a max of 2mins & then it goes bak to the same state....

now the interesting part is that he checked in safe mode with networking that the NIC works great with no issues... again at the normal mode this problem is there...

even he has tried removing the video card.... no solution....

the drivers of the entire system as updated.... BIOS updated...

the NIC is a PCI card.... has been working since the system has been purchased....

startup items checked..... sustem restore done.....

plzz sugest wat might be the issue.....

my pen drive has very important data but now it is not opning .the drive has two partition.the drive which has actully data is not opning now.and the secound drive in it,s prorperties showing that the space is full but data is not opning.please send me solution.
