I had bought Sony Bravia Model KLV-26U300A ME 1 Serial No: 4111731 from a dealer Reliance Digital (Cunninghuam Road Bangalore) on 26.04.2008.I paid INR 32100/- for it and it is the first TV I have bought. "ITs a Sony” and the brand was fixed in one's mind to be trusted.On May-2009 I found that my TV is not switching on properly. After switching on it will trip instantly. I was really surprised to see the sony quality. We have never expected that a sony can sustain only the warranty period and after that it will start problem. I called customer care and logged complain. Sony engineer visited my home and confirmed that the Power supply unit went off and it will cost Rs.3500/-. After many argument and since I have not claimed any replacement during my warrantee period they replaced it free of cost.Before seeing the Purchase bill and Warrantee Card the same engineer asked me from where did I purchased this model? He told me “this model was sold in Middle East Country and very less quantity in India at various Malls because of its continuous customer complains”.On Oct-2010 I found that picture is coming little late after switching on the TV, first one cloudy screen will appear and then picture will come.After few more days no picture is coming, only sound and cloudy screen.I called local service centre and they sent the service person. And he confirmed that Front Panel needs to be change. And he gave an estimate of INR.10000/- + Service Charge. Ref. Estimate Dated 25.10.2010. I paid him estimation/visit charges of INR.100.How such a SONY TV can sustain only Tow and Half year only?The New Business Policy of SONY is now to sell sub standard goods which will survive the warranty period only and then make money - tons of it on service and spares. Its a blow to one's belief in the brand.I always suggest all of my friends not to purchase any LCD TV from Sony.
