If debugging is the process of removing bugs then programming must be the process of putting them in

Interesting list you got there. I wonder how are you able to finish ALL those games I think ive made it through 25% of HL2 . and DOOM 3 is still lying pretty in its case and so is cronicals of the riddick.
Anyway the games that I am looking forward to are:
1 Half Life 2 : Aftermath
2 Serious Sam 2

Well, you're partially on target. I don't have the enthusiasm to play through a game that I don't really like. And these days it's becoming more difficult because of work pressures. However, I usually have marathon sessions on weekends . Last weekend, I played through and completed Dawn of War in 1.5 days. I would have completed it faster if I knew that the game did not require so much strategy + thought as I attempted in the first few missions.
Of the list, half would probably turn out to be disappointments and therefore I will be spending a couple of hours and leave them.

Hi SAN, I'm back too....
lets see what we can do to keep this thread going....
firstly I had the same prob with dawn of war.... you actually have to wait till u have the max upgraded units and vehicles and enough of em.... before u try anything.... and don't expand too much either, just keep your men in a tight bunch and spend loads of resouces on building gun turrets....4-5 around each observation post...
I game every night for 2 hours and 8 hours on Sundays....
I am currently playing concurrently -
1. Settlers heritage of kings...
2. GTA San Andreas
3. Vampire Bloodlines
4. Pirates of the caribbean
5. Dungeon Siege 2
Anticipating
1. STALKER shadow of chernobyl
2. FEAR
3. AOE 3
will update this list...

How are you finding Settlers ? I played Settlers III a while back and was disappointed. Would like to give another try since generally I like this type of games.

Re : Favorite PC games
GOD, how are you guys able to let go of the games that you have just played.
Look at me, i'm still stucj with CS:Source and HL2, though ive finished HL2 but I am just trying different places of the game, just for fun. Psycannon, or the super gravity gun as I like to call it is simply awsome, the best weapon ever I must say. Finally we have soemthing other than the rocket launchers and rail guns. Something really innovative. And death matches with the gravity guns are just soo much fun. You guys have to experience it at least once.
What I've seen here is, most people are not into the multiplayer arena because of the kind of net connection or the kind of the copy of the game.
Rs 1600 for an awsome game isnt too bad. Though you can get about 16 games for that money from the obvious places. But, most of the time they arent worth it.
I just cant get over these games. I am still hooked to Halo online, BF2 online, BF 1942 online and HL2+CS:Source online. Heck I still play QuakeIII online. I am just not prepared to start another game. I dont know how do you guys manage starting the next game. Or, I guess I'm the crazy one who is just too hooked on to Online gameplay.

Well, some games are meant to be played over and over again. As I have previously mentioned, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri (Planetary Pack) is on my hard drive since 1999 and through many system upgrades. But in general I like to come back to a game after every few months or so.
Regarding paying for a game, it has to be available first . Many of my games are paid for. But one of my recurrent problems are: most of the games I want to play are simply not available here (not even 100 buck copies). For example, I have not been able to find a copy of 'Planescape: Torment' in shops and I have been looking since 2000 ! Ditto for many other such titles. It seems anything other than action or sports (racing included) takes a long time (or never) coming to India.
The major problem with playing multiplayer is the bandwidth. I currently have a Sify Broadband 256 kbps unlimited account. The actual speed is around 30 kBps (notice the difference in 'b' here ). This speed is simply not qualified for online gaming. I have been meaning to go for a BSNL 512 kbps line, but I don't find the time (or I am too lazy) ....

Re : Favorite PC games
Ever since I began playing computer games 3 years ago, life has changed for me significantly. I happily spend time alone next to the screen rather than listen to mindless gossip of elders or immatures overtures of friends talking about girls or clothes, with lines punctuated often with abuses to make themselves look cool.
Some of my standouts are:
No One Lives Forever 1&2 (My first and possibly the best gaming experience)
Age of Empires (RTS at its best)
Medieval: Total War (Complex, Rewarding,Magnificent)
Far Cry (Except the Trigens, what is not to like?)
Call of Duty Series (Frenetic, realistic and awe-inspiring)
Caesar 3 (Fun to play)
Neverwinter Nights Series (What an amazing RPG. Truly a treat)
And when it comes to XBox, it's Ninja Gaiden. This game, in my opinion, is the finest of all. Nothing comes close to it in terms of sheer perfection of presentation and combat.
Early anticipating and what to play:
F.E.A.R
AOE 3
Rome: Total War
Ninja Gaiden Black
Splinter Cell : Chaos Theory
Regards.....

Re : Favorite PC games
Agree to that Sanjuro, Ive been looking for BF 1942 expansions ever since I got the game, which in my openion, is the best multiplayer game after Counter Strike.
BF 1942 - Road to Rome has been labled the most realistic WWII era era game with the right kind of physics and weapons. But, I have been looking for the legit version since ages. Then there is seacret weapons and many other extensions which dont have the legit vesions available here and without the legit version, you can never play online.
