Recently i decided to get my pc updated..For that i need Processor - core 2 quad (2.4 ghz,2.53 ghz ) RAM- 2 x 2gb DDR2 Motherboard - For nvidia cards - Supporting CUDA,hybrid tech for nvidia 9 series cards ,Having 2 pcie 2.0 slots 16 x each For ati cards - no idea SMPS - Whatever is required ,cooler master etc (500-650 W ) Now here are my choices for the gfxs - 1) nvidia cards - 8800 gt,8800 gtx ,8800 gts ( the 1s having pcie 2.0) and from 9 series (only if they are better than those of 8 series i mentioned) ---- 9800 gtx /9800 gtx + 2) ATi cards - 3870x2,4850,4870 Now my budget for card is close to 15 k(rs).. I guess these 4850 nd 4870 cards are better than even 9800 gtx+ and equal to gtx260 .. nd i heard that next month ati wuld introduce 4850 x2 and 4870 x2...so i guess with that the price of 4870 will go down with that ..right now i guess a 4850 is of 12k nd 4870 is of 18k ..spending more than 15k on a card is not in my budget right now..but if i c a good deal i may even go up (for example 4850 x2 for 16/17 k wen it comes ) and then i could nt figure it out that whether the 4*** series ati crossfire wuld work better than 9 series (if they r better than 8 series) 2 sli cards.. nd then i dont have any idea of what processor and mbd wuld b best for an ATI card... So you c in case i choose nvidia -my confusion is with the card i choose... And if i go for ATI - i need to kno the motherboard,processor too which would go just fine with it..as i have never known abt ATI s ACTUALLY AS YOU SEE MY WHOLE PC S CONFIG CAN BE CHANGED WITH THE CHOICE OF GETTING AN ATI OR NVIDIA.. I mean 9 series has different requirements from a mother board and they recommend nforce chipsets..for ATI i have no idea.. and I wanted to know A good 22" tft/lcd too .. budget for that around 15k only ...samsung.lg.viewsonic etc... And if you have an idea that in a few weeks the prices of card will go down drastically please do let me know about that too.. Waiting for a prompt reply as i need to buy this stuff max by coming week... And its not worth hoping prices will come down because it wont. The ATi 4850 is currently being considered as best VFM followed by the 9800GTX+.
