Re : Need Cooling Solution.
You'll have a tough time keeping the temperature below 40?C under load with air cooling. I wouldn't bother with after-market cooling if you are not overclocking and if your temperatures are within 55?C with your workload. You could try adding some intake and exhaust fans on the cabinet.
It's hard to suggest anything without more details...Are you overclocking? Do you run any CPU intensive applications? And how hot does it get?

Re : Need Cooling Solution.
Not 1 mistake, 2 in total.
1. Why Asus P5K-C?? Its crappy mobo, Abit P35 mobos r rocking, nothing can beat them @price they r selling.
2. Why 8800GTS 320MB, HD2900PRO is better than this.
40C is totally amazing, I think U r kidding with us. I also have E6750 + XFX 650i, its idles @39C idle and 55C on load, using Arctic freezer cooler. 40C on stock cooler are too good. Nothing to worry, E6750 can handle temps upto 71.6C, nothing to panic.

Re : Need Cooling Solution.
Use everest ultimate or core temp to check temps, both r very accurate. Dont use speedfan.

Re : Need Cooling Solution.
thanks pps
rite.
these are the details.
The PC is running at stock loading and am thinking of OC ing after getting an answer for this.
The BIOS reading of CPU is 33C
but the MB reading is 47.
I have a couple of fins acting as intake and exhaust.
My room is warm without AC....
And this reading is w/o playin or running anything on the sys
Except browsin in techtree..

Nevarre,
I'm not sure if Abit is available in India. The 2900 Pro is not yet available and I doubt it will be the same price as an 8800GTS 320MB. You're comparing a future card with one that is available now.
OP,
Did you take the BIOS temperature readings after a cold boot? It takes some time for the temperature to stabilize. Give it at least half an hour or try restarting the PC after use and check the BIOS readings. If your BIOS and software readings match, try to find the CPU temperature under load using something like prime95.
http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft.htm
All software monitoring programs use the same PLL or on die sensor to access temperature data, so they are all equally fallible. However some of them might have better support for your hardware. Just check if the software you are using has any issues with your board. It is not uncommon to see temperature values being skewed due to incorrect calibration.
If you are still having problems, check your motherboiard driver CD or download Asus PC probe.

What exactly is this "MB" reading you refer to and what on earth did you mean by "fins acting as intake and exhaust"?

Re : Need Cooling Solution.
motherboard reading is always above 45C to 48C
CPU remains under 40C.
fins or fans attached which are functioning as intake and exhaust
I have ASUS probe, as a matter of fact the readings are taken after 40 mins of idling the PC.
Is this Normal or should i change the board?
