Download the installer 'without' logging into Microsoft's website
Microsoft finally released the release candidates for Windows Vista SP 2 and Windows Server 2008 through a single stand alone installer.
Microsoft quietly released Windows Vista Service Pack 2 publicly for download through their TechNet website. Users can directly download the installer 'without' logging into the website like they had to do for Windows 7 Beta download.
Windows Vista SP 2 is available in five languages English, French, German, Japanese and Spanish in a stand alone installer.
We earlier at Techtree had mentioned that the Vista Service Pack will bring support for newer hardware and other emerging standards along with Windows Search 4.0 and number of fixes. This is the first release candidate of Windows Vista Service Pack 2 and the final version of Vista Service Pack 2 is expected to release in second quarter 2009.
I have downloaded Windows Vista SP2 RC from Microsoft Site and installed the same. After the installation, at the bottom right corner of the Desktop there is a text "Windows Vista (TM) Evaluation Copy, Build 6002". I tried on 3 different PCs but, same result! I am unable to understand why this? My OS is OEM provided! Is there any problem? What has to be done? Please advise.
