Capacity wars have been going on for years in the magnetic storage hard drive arena. First it was Hitachi with the 1 TB hard drive, then came Seagate with a 1.5 TB drive last year and now the crown for largest capacity has been snatched by Western Digital with its unprecedented 2.0 TB hard drive.

Even as solid state storage is told to be the storage standard to look out for, we have the predominant storage standard with towering capacities and plummeting prices. The WD Caviar Green WD20EADS that we review today has a huge 2.0 TB capacity and the green moniker means that it is tuned to consume less power and is therefore energy efficient. Would that affect the performance in any way? We'll find that out as we put it through our test suite. Read on.

everything is good other than response time, not good for primary hard drive or boot drive. can be used as a backup drive or other installations. raid0 is a costly affair with this drive. and who needs such capacity of drive, even 1TB is more than sufficient for video editing studios. well. it was just a review, not endorsement....
