    HTC Touch HD [Review]

Frazier Barretto, Mar 03, 2009 0430 hrs IST

The phone retails for Rs. 42,000 with a one-year warranty

Build and looks, large clear display, good touch responsiveness, smooth operation, 3.5mm jack, GPS, Wi-Fi

Package (no memory card), slow camera, heating issues, accelerometer needs improvement (software glitch)

Well, today we review another HTC phone, namely, the Touch HD. The name may sound deceiving, especially the 'HD'; the only thing I can think of is its 720p capability, other than that, the phone doesn't seem to be a good video player going by the spec sheet. I'll give my view on its video capability a little later in the review.

Also, we shall consider whether the overall features of the phone justify the hefty price tag attached. Does the phone's performance equal the value of the money you shell out for this Windows Mobile device?  Let's find out.

Guys Lets accept a fact , Windows Mobile is not for casual users. It is for Geeks who want to customize their phones to an extent that no Symbian phone will allow. Also the current windows mobile 6.1 OS loaded onto the phone is not a finger friendly phone , you need to have the stylus to perform certain actions . HTC have tried their best to mask the Windows User interface to make the user feel as if he is using a better Touch phone, but they still have a long way to go and their upcoming version of TF3D is much better and streamlined. Having said that No other mobile can satisfy a True Geek who can just about change everything in the screen to enhance the look and feel of the phone. Windows Mobile is a wonderful and highly customizable interface and has loads of free software available in different forums. So if you can afford the phone and have a Geek in you then go for this phone , the screen size alone can make one go crazy with the unlimited possibilities of customization.
