Asus has announced the Asus G50V gaming laptop for India. Aimed at the gaming audience, the G50V supports Intel Core 2 Duo mobile processors and is equipped with Nvidia GeForce 9000 M series graphics.

The new G50V has a 15.6-inch WXGA LCD panel that offers decent quality visuals for gaming enthusiasts. The gaming laptop supports Intel Core 2 Duo mobile processors and offers a choice between T9600/T9400/P8600/P8400/P7350 mobile processors. Based on the Intel Mobile PM45 chipset, G50V supports up to 4GB DDR2 800MHz memory.

For graphics, Asus has packed in Nvidia GeForce 9700M GT graphics with dedicated 512MB GDDR3 video memory. One can add a double SATA HDD with a total of up to 640GB (7200RPM) storage for increased storage. On buying the G series gaming notebook, the customer gets an option to choose the gaming package consisting of a Republic of Gamers backpack, an Asus gaming mouse, and a Siberia Steel series gaming headset.

LifeFrame, SmartLogon, and Virtual Camera are the technologies packed in for a total video communication experience, with HDMI outport support. With WiFi and Bluetooth (v2.1 + EDR) for connectivity, the laptop also offers a FireWire port.

The G50V also offers performance enhancing modes with the CPU Level Up feature; the top most setting pushes up the CPU power to the max. An optional Blu-ray combo is available in place of the Super Multi DVD optical drive. For longer battery life, Asus offers the option of a 9-cell battery for long game sequences.

Asus is selling this gaming laptop package at Rs. 1,15,000 at leading stores in India.
