Ballmer has been careful enough not to provide with exact shipping date but a rough period about Microsoft's upcoming products. Microsoft had recently demonstrated the new Windows Mobile 6.5 at the Mobile World Congress 2009. During the conference call, Ballmer repeated several times that Microsoft isn't working on self-branded smartphones.
According to WMPuser, Ballmer has clearly said that Windows Mobile 7 will arrive next year. We can anticipate Microsoft to demonstrate Windows Mobile 7 at the next Mobile World Congress in 2010. So next year Windows Mobile 7 will compete with bit matured version of Android. About the Microsoft Office 14 Suite, Ballmer confirmed that the it won't release this year. Further to that, he said that Office 14 will have new version of Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Exchange along with new Office Live in it.
Microsoft is expected to release Office 14 some time next year, probably prior to mid-2009. Ballmer didn't have much to say on the Microsoft's retail plans.
To John McClore...
I completely agree with what you said. Windows 7 Beta is so very close to completion. However, what the article was about was Mobile 7 (not specifically Windows 7). There are a few things here and there that still need work in Windows 7 though. But, I would take it over Vista RIGHT NOW. Piece of crap Vista.
Nonsense. Windows 7 Beta is stable and more or less complete. They could ship it today if they wanted. What are they going to do for the next 10 months on it? They'll ship it this summer.
