A 10 minute exposure to direct sunlight can power the device for a three minute phone call
Just days after Samsung showed its intentions to go green with a solar-powered eco-friendly phone, Korean rival LG has come up with its version of a green phone. At the ongoing Mobile World Congress, the company exhibited a mobile phone with a solar panel built on its back cover. The device, which has not yet been named, can recharge itself with natural light. A 10 minute exposure to direct sunlight can power the device for a three minute phone call.
The company has also displayed a solar panel equipped back cover that can be added as an accessory to other LG devices, making them capable of getting powered by sunlight. Looks like the Asian giants are in a race to produce a range of eco-friendly devices in the near future.
