Most famous for it motorized speakers and twin sub woofers, the Jazz series is catching a great deal of attention; not just in India but internationally too. We've put a 42-inch sample to test and here's the full report.
Design
Dressed in glossy black, the LG 42LG80FR not only looks better than LG's Scarlet, but is also prettier than most LCD TVs from other manufacturers. In comparison, the Samsung L6 is the only other better-looking TV that comes to my mind. However, the control buttons are placed at the bottom of the panel, which I'm not a big fan of.
Also, the AV ports are placed so far at the back that you can't easily access the side AV ports if you wall mount the TV. A D-shaped glossy black stand provides a stable base and also acts as a swivel for the panel. An adjustable bracket at the back allows for efficient cable management and reduces clutter.
Hi, I am planning to buy 32LG80FR and we are being suggested to switch to Tata Sky/Dish TV kind of things. Can someone tell me if there is anyother benefit of doing that( like safety to the TV etc.) apart from a better picture quality?
Yes It does help. You get best possible signals. since we don't have HD broadcast in India ...this is the closest you can get. Go for Airtel DTH I think its the best. I am using Tata Sky with my 42LG80FR
Piyush, you mentioned here that you bought 42LG80FR for Rs. 54K? can u please give the dealer details? coz d dealer here at Jamnagar is quoting far high a price.
I picked up this TV a month or so back for 60K along with the DVD movies, the DVD player and the Mp3 player. The TV is excellent for the price, the DVD's are avi versions at a resolution not suitable for a TV this size. Overall the TV and the DVD player make it a really worthwhile deal.
It does not make any sense to plunk in 80K for a 42 inch TV with sliding speakers. I have bought a 46 inch 5 series samsung for 75000 with 50 DVDs and a gift thrown in by TMC in Hyd. Great TV, Great review on the internet and best value for money
