Students Barred from Using Mobile Phones in School

Use of mobile phones by teachers banned as well
With incidents of mobile phone misuse by teens on the rise, our State has realized the need to ban mobile phone use by students in schools. The Maharashtra Government has decided to pass a resolution banning the use of mobile phones in the classroom, according to a report in The Times of India. "Students will not be allowed to carry mobiles to the classroom. If they carry mobile phones to school, they can leave them outside the classroom in their bags," Education Minister Patangrao Kadam was quoted as saying. He said that the order would be passed in a few days.
Apart from this, the Maharashtra Government is also considering to ban the use of mobile phones by teachers in schools after receiving numerous complaints from parents about teachers using mobiles during teaching hours, according to a report in Hindustan Times. The directive would affect all government and private schools in the state.
