Browser should have version of Gears that supports location module

    mail share

It's been only a few days since Google launched Latitude, a tool that lets you share, set, or hide your location from friends. Now here's a similar tool that's been churned out of Google Labs that lets you share your location on mail by default - it's called "Location in Signature."

Location in Signature lets users display the location from which they are sending the email.

To try it, turn on Location in Signature from the Labs tab under Settings, then go to your signature preferences and check the box next to "Append your location to the signature."

The tool uses your public IP address to determine your location, so it may not always be that accurate. If you want more accurate location detection, you have to make sure your browser has a version of Gears that supports the location module, said Marco Bonechi, software engineer at Google who developed the tool.
