Blizzard managed to create enough hype with tons of StarCraft II footage last year. As told to fans, the StarCraft II is expected to release before Diablo 3 in the last quarter of this year.

Joystiq reported Blizzard's chief operating office Paul Sams saying that the beta version of the StarCraft II will be released "months ahead". This StarCraft beta II version will be a basic version of the "new Battle.net architecture."

After the beta testing, new features will be added in the second version of the Battle.net architecture. 'Basic version' means that it could be free and the second version with 'new features' might be a paid one.

At the Diablo III Gamplay panel, Blizzard's Julian Wilson mentioned that they are looking to monetize Battle.net so that they can keep making these games and updating features.

Like all StarCraft fans, we too are waiting to get hands on experience with the new StarCraft II. No exact date release has been announced by Blizzard who is known for pushing release dates.
