If priced under Rs 19,000, it could be a good option for a first-time computer buyer
Acer, who had earlier launched the 8.9-inch Aspire One, has now brought out the next Aspire One model, the AOD150. This Netbook comes with a 10.1-inch screen, Windows XP, multi-touch trackpad and more storage. The price of AOD150 starts from $349 (Rs. 17,000 approx) but will take a while to reach the Indian market. The Acer Aspire One AOD150 is equipped with 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, Intel 945GSE chipset, Intel GMA 950, 160GB hard disk, single SDHC card slot and 1GB DDR2 RAM. Unlike the previous Aspire One model, which offered Linpus Linux Lite OS as an option, the AOD150 comes with Windows XP Service Pack 3 pre-loaded.
The changes in the AOD150 include a multi-touch trackpad and six-cell Li-ion battery that promises four to five hours of battery life. Rest of the configuration remains similar to a standard Netbook - Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, webcam and three USB 2.0 ports. If priced under Rs 19,000 in India, this 10.1-inch Acer model might be a good option for a first-time computer buyer. Acer's Windows XP loaded nine-inch Aspire One sells in India for Rs. 16,499.
