After a slew of rumors and a few sightings, LG has decided to unveil the LG Arena (LG-KM900). This news has been confirmed on LG's official blog, where it also states that this will be the company's flagship mobile phone for the year 2009.
LG will showcase Arena, its second touchscreen phone after Cookie, at the Mobile World Congress to be held in mid-February.
With the official release announcement, some features of Arena have been confirmed.
LG Arena's 3D user interface intends to offer an engaging multimedia experience its users, says the company. A cube-based layout will provide four customizable home screens for direct access to all features. Users will be able to access music, movies, pictures with intuitive touch-based 3D menus.
The phone will feature audio and video technologies enhanced by Dolby and DivX technologies. LG Arena will also include improved internet connectivity with HSDPA 7.2 networks, Wi-Fi and A-GPS.
Lastly, LG will release further specifications (which include the price of the phone) and other surprises only during its press conference at the upcoming Mobile World Congress on Feb. 16.
