Finally we have a G45 chipset in our labs and its from none other than Gigabyte. The feature set is very similar to the G41 we reviewed from ECS except that it uses ICH10R Southbridge which is more advanced than the ICH7 Southbridge used in the G41 chipset. This helps in expanding the total no of ports like for instance, we get 12 USB ports instead of 8 and 5 SATA ports with support for ESATA as well as HDMI.

For the graphics part of it, we have Intel's GMA X4500HD, which should be better than the G41's chip considering it's the high end component in Intel's line up. But these are the features that are present in every motherboard with the G45 chipset, so what makes Gigabytes offering so special?

Well, if you've ever owned a Gigabyte board then you would understand. But for those who are unawares, Gigabyte always throws in their own proprietary technology which adds value to product and helps give it the edge over the competition.
Some of the features include their Dynamic Energy Saver chip that automatically balances the load of the system depending on the work being performed. Ultra Durable 2 is a feature by including Ferrite Core chokes, All Solid capacitors.

I have no doubt that this is going to be one hell of a performer and hopefully it won't disappoint, so be sure to check it out.
