Just a few months ago, we had reviewed the Zotac GTX280 AMP! Edition and it had more than impressed us with its stellar performance. Now, we have another AMP! Edition from Zotac, but this time around it is the GTX285. This is very similar to the GTX280 in appearance and it can be easily mistaken for it, as it is only a die-shrink of the GTX 280 chip, with 65 nm process being replaced by the newer and better 55 nm fabrication process. Therefore, we do not expect any big difference in the performance, but there is bound to be a reduction in the power consumption. This G200-based graphics card is an overclocked version and we should expect better performance right out of the box. The card has been tested and you can read all about it in this review.
For those who may be interested, Zotac International Limited is a Hong Kong-based computer hardware company manufacturing motherboards and graphics cards. With its headquarters situated in Hong Kong, it has 40 SMT manufacturing facilities in mainland China, with offices in Europe, Asia and North America. It is an official NVIDIA partner and therefore delivers the latest NVIDIA products as soon as the parts are launched.
The card comes in a nice-looking yellow-orange box with a honeycomb design. A fire-spewing dragon is featured on the box along with information about the bundled software and games as well as the card specifications. A transparent plastic window lets you glimpse at the card placed inside. We opened the box to see what's inside and found that the graphics card is neatly tucked and secured inside foam to survive the rough time during transportation.

The bundle is as complete as it can be and it leaves us with nothing to complain about. Notable is the fact that Zotac has also included the internal S/PDIF cable to facilitate HDMI audio when you connect an HDTV to this card. To prove that the card packs in solid muscle power, they have bundled along the full version of 3DMark Vantage, a popular graphics benchmarking software. Also bundled along is the new car simulator game Race Driver: Grid.
