Meet Fujitsu F-01A, the world's first fingerprint-enabled waterproof mobile phone.

The phone, currently available only in Japan with the NTT DoCoMo network, has a fingerprint sensor from Authentec. The phone also features TrueNav technology, again from Authentec, that allows users a touchpad-like navigational control via the fingerprint sensor.

The phone has a 3.5-inch widescreen VGA touchscreen display with a 5.2 megapixel autofocus camera. Then, it has built-in GPS with Mobile Google Maps with Street View. Mobile payment mode being popular in Japan, it also features an e-wallet mobile payment facility. While the specs are undoubtedly high end, one thing that stands out is the fact that the device is waterproof.

Yes, we have seen high end, well-endowed phones earlier too. However, none of them was even remotely water-friendly. This one however is. The phone can stay under a meter of water for half an hour and can live to tell the tale. There are no details available regarding the pricing.

The saddest part however is the fact that this one will most probably never make it out of Japan, leaving mortals like us, who are not residents of Japan, drooling.
