US Presidential elect Barack Obama who takes office as president later today will be carrying along his beloved Blackberry when he enters the White House post the ceremony.

The soon-to-be President of the United States has in the past expressed his desire to keep his Blackberry with him once he assumes office. However, the US Secret Service had issues with this because of the security concerns that could possibly arise owing to the usage of the service by the first citizen of the US. Additionally, as president of the country, Obama will also be required to keep a record of every White House communication. Additionally, there are certified, approved devices that the President needs to use for official communication. The Secret Service is concerned about the fact that there is always a risk of a possible "break-in" thanks to the use of uncertified devices.

However, when most people expected the President-elect to give up his Blackberry, Obama has in a recent CNN interview confirmed that he would indeed be taking his phone over to the Oval. He also seemed aware of the security concerns and said that he would surely think twice before he clicks the send button.

Obama also said that this would be one of his ways to remain connected to the people. As an example, he mentioned that if he makes a wrong decision, all they need to do is to drop him a mail.
