Images spotted with a configuration of 10.1-inch screen, 1.6GHz Intel Atom, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, and multitouch trackpad
Images of Acer Aspire One 103 were leaked on the web this weekend. Sporting a 10.1-inch screen, Aspire One 103 is powered by the 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 and features a multitouch trackpad, as Jkkmobile reports.
The featured multitouch trackpad would be a novel feature in 10-inch form factor netbooks. The Aspire One 103 features a 1GB RAM (single slot), a 160GB HDD and Bluetooth, WiFi, and optional 3G as connectivity options. Thanks to the back doors at the bottom panel, RAMs/HDDs can be easily inserted or removed.
The Aspire One 103 will be pre-loaded with Windows XP; let s hope that Acer offers the Linux option unlike other netbook manufacturers. This 10-inch netbook also integrates a webcam and a SDHC card reader. There is nothing novel to the netbook except the multitouch track pad. This device can be expected to compete with others on the grounds of price.
Netbooks with the 10-inch form are slowly going mainstream with Asus Eee PC 1000, Dell Adamo, Samsung NC10, and others. There was no official announcement from Acer, but Aspire One 103 can be expected in February.
