WD has launched a media player that connects to a user's TV or home theater and plays digital movies, music, and photos from WD's My Passport portable drive or other USB mass storage devices.
WD had launched this media player in the US back in November 2008 and has now launched it in India.
It was only this month that Seagate launched the FreeAgent Theater HD media player to enable the viewing of stored digital media material on TV screens rather than computer monitors.
Users can leave the WD TV HD Media Player connected to their TVs and plug in up to two My Passport USB drives or other USB mass storage devices loaded with HD media. With the help of the included remote control, they can navigate and play content of their liking with the media player's on-screen menu.
