MTNL to Commercially Launch 3G Services this Month

Delhi first, Mumbai to follow in February

Unbelievable, but apparently true -- MTNL will commercially launch its 3G services in Delhi a within the next 10 days, MTNL's CMD R S P Sinha has been reported to have made this statement.

Mumbai, on the other hand, will get a taste of the next generation services in the first week of February this year, Sinha has said.

The state-owned telecom service provider has not tied up with any content service providers for the same. MTNL will rely on its IPTV providers to give it content and the company may tie up with other content providers in due course of time, he added.

At present, it has 15,000 IPTV subscribers in Delhi and Mumbai.

MTNL had soft-launched its 3G services in Delhi in December 2008 under the brand name 'Jadoo'.
