In our recent article on Notebooks under 40K, we found some really good contenders like the Dell 1525, Acer Aspire 4930 (that offers very good performance) and the LG R510 ( best overall value). For those who missed that roundup, you can read it here.

As the title suggests, today we will be looking at Notebooks above the 40K price bracket up to Rs.60,000.

What to Expect?

Since these are the higher grade Notebooks, here are a couple of features that should ideally be present.

  • Powerful configuration : T5800(2 GHz) processor at least with minimum of 2GB RAM

  • Dedicated graphics

  • Shortcut keys

The first one is kind of a given because when you're spending something like 50K on a Notebook it better be powerful. Also, as per today's standards, a processor with 2MB of L2 cache and above 2.0GHz should be your starting point. Along with that expect at least 2GB of DDR2 memory if you want Vista to work smoothly.

The second is your dedicated graphics card. An Nvidia or ATI card can easily be accommodated in the 50K-55K price range.

Shortcut keys make life a lot easier when you quickly need to activate any feature like Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Also, media keys for controlling the Volume and playback of a movie come handy.

Today we have about ten contenders in our roundup, each having their own target audience. While one of them has a full HD screen, the other has a more compact design giving you a longer battery life.

First let's take a quick look at the features these Notebooks have to offer.
