    CBI introduces a SMS service in Himachal Pradesh to encourage people to provide details about corrupt government officials

Filing complaints against corrupt government officials is now hassle-free in Himachal Pradesh with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) introducing the medium of SMS for the same.


 


This service is expected to encourage people to provide details about corrupt employees in government offices as well as public sector undertakings. At present, corruption cases are relatively few in the state as the common man is reluctant to come forward due to the hassles involved, according to the agency.


 


Now, people can provide information through an SMS or call 09418153535.


 


As per the CBI, the SMS service has been very successful in tackling corruption in other states and it hopes to replicate the model in this hilly state.
