To coincide with the upcoming Valentine's Day and the Chinese New Year, Samsung announced as many as four mobile phones.

The new devices launched are - the i7110, the D980, i780 Ultra Messaging and a new Festive Red Omnia. Let's look at each of these handsets in detail.

Business on the Move - i7110

The i7110 is a Symbian-based phone directed at businessmen on the move. Along with the business-like look and features, the device also packs in a decent 5 megapixel camera unit. The imaging features include autofocus, smile shot, blink shot and even an LED flash. The phone is pretty slim at 12.9 mm and there is a secondary VGA camera for video calls and conferencing. Samsung has added FM radio as well to the phone -- making it an all out entertainment hub. The i7110 has a 2.6 inch AMOLED screen -- and connectivity options include GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and HSDPA. Samsung has priced this phone at $728 (Rs.35,000)

Double fun with the D980

The D980 is another handset designed for businesspersons. This phone features the TouchWiz user interface and as expected is touchscreen. The USP of the device seems to center around the fact that the phone supports dual SIM cards. This is directed at the traveling executive who would like to switch between lines with the flick of a switch. The phone supports dual roaming and with a 1200mAH battery, boats of 7 hours talk time and 320 hours standby time. There is a 5 megapixel camera added in as well for shutterbugs on-the-move. The phone will be available for $728 (Rs.35,000).

Festive in Red: Omnia

To mark the arrival of the festive season in Southeast Asia, Samsung has toyed around with its Omnia to bring what they call the Festive Red edition. Inside, it is the same hardware as the original Omnia. It is just the look and design that has been slightly modified to encompass the festive flavor. Features include a WQVGA, 3.2-inch LCD display, 5-mega pixel camera with autofocus, face and smile detection. The  8GB version will be available in red from end January 2009 at a price of $828 (Rs. 41,000)

QWERTY away with the i780

Samsung's i780 is a business handset featuring a full QWERTY keyboard, along with a touchscreen interface. The phone runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. While it's been quite a while since the launch of this phone, the device now comes with a feature addition called "Ultra Messaging". The phone comes with an optical joystick to make navigation easier. On the connectivity front, there is WiFi, GPS and HSDPA. Existing i780 users can upgrade their phones software to the latest version by visiting the nearest Samsung Service Centers. The refreshed i780 ultra messaging will be available by the end of this month at a sweet price of $498 (Rs.24,396).
