The Canon LBP-3108B is a very compact mono laser printer measuring just 19.5 cm in height. With a footprint of just 37 cm x 38 cm, it lets you place it in just about any corner of your office. When the tray is closed in the storage position, the depth of the printer shrinks to just 24 cm from 38 cm. The LBP-3108B deviates from the traditional grey and white office looks and instead sports a black polymer body with a glossy finish. It looks good enough to be even placed on your desktop. The build is pretty rugged and there aren't many moving parts inside, so we think that it would have no troubles in enduring the rigors of office work. It weighs 5.4 Kg without the toner cartridge (which weighs another 540 gm), making it a bit heavy, but that is normal for an entry-level mono laser printer.
The input tray is situated at the bottom and is covered with a detachable transparent plastic cover. While it can accommodate up to 150 sheets, there is also a multi-purpose just above the transparent plastic cover where you can place a single sheet of paper for a quick print. The transparent plastic makes it very easy to clear paper jam. Also, the shorter U shaped paper pass makes it less likely for paper jams to occur. You have to place paper in such a way that the leading edge is in and the printed side is facing up.
The output tray is on top of the unit and is just a transparent plastic flap that flips out to keep paper from falling over. It can hold up to 100 sheets. The prints come with the top edge first and the printed side facing down.
