Putting all rumors of large screen iPod Touch and Mac Tablet to rest, Axiotron announced an updated Modook tablet
All the rumors about larger screen iPod Touch and new Mac Tablet faced a dead end at MacWorld 2009 with Axiotron, the Mac based tablet-maker, announcing Modbook Pro tablet computer.
Axiotron refreshed their Modbook and voila, here's the new 15.4-inch Modbook Pro. This mind-boggling Mac-based tablet carries a whooping price of $5,000 (Rs. 2,43,000)!
Made from Apple's new aluminum unibody MacBook Pro base, the Modbook Pro with 15.4-inch WXGA display measures 0.93 inch. The Modbook Pro running Mac OS X is pepped with 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and nVidia GeForce 9600M GT graphics.
Modbook Pro sports Axiotron's new Synergy Touch technology that integrates support for pen-based or touch input methods. Hence, users can scribble or sketch using digital pen and type using onscreen keyboard shortcut commands. Modbook Pro even has optical drive and all the MacBook Pro based connectors: FireWire 800, two USB 2.0, Mini DisplayPort, Bluetooth, digital audio ports and ExpressCard 34 Slot.
Axiotron also offers option to pre-install Windows Vista over the hard drive partition. This new Modbook Pro carries a hefty price of $5,000 and will start shipping in May or June 2009. Axiotron also offers MacBook to Modbook Pro Modservice at price starting $3,049 (Rs. 1,48,000).
Let's hope that Apple finally pays attention at this and comes up with iTablet soon.
