Asus showed off its ultra-thin S121 laptop that is under an inch thick and has world's largest SSD of 512GB capacity at CES 2009.

The S121 also features Microsoft's yet-to-be-released Windows 7 operating system. The featured touchscreen is powered by Asus-developed specialized software.

Asus S121 will come with 1.33GHz Intel Atom processor and measures 11.7 inch by 8.3 inch and weigh about three pounds.

Though it will be available in February or later, it won't carry Windows 7 for obvious reasons. The Asus S121 with Windows 7 will be available next year at an approximate price of $1,649 (Rs. 80,000), Asus chairman Jonney Shih said.

This year a new ultra-thin sub-segment seems to be emerging with a number of ultra-thin laptops already showcased at the show.

The non-Windows 7 version might be released later this year, but Asus is tight-lipped about its release date and price.
