Without a doubt, Flash memory devices are the next big thing in storage. Well, actually, they already are. Today people carry their data using a USB Flash drive rather than a CD or a DVD simply because of the sheer convenience it offers. The nosediving price of Flash devices is one of the major contributing factors for this to have happened.
A growing number of manufacturers are producing Flash drives with large capacities. Corsair has been a major player in the memory market and it would have been a surprise to see it left out of the USB Flash drive market. It has a strong contingent of Flash drives, but we were attracted to one particular USB Flash memory stick - the Flash Voyager GT. This one comes with a rubberized exterior that guarantees to withstand shock and keep out water. We found it amazing and decided to test it.
The Bundle
Corsair Flash Voyager GT 16 GB
USB extension cable
Lanyard
The lanyard lets you carry it around without losing it. The USB extension cable allows you to plug it into a rear USB port, without the need to reach to the back of your PC.
The stick comes in a nice see-through blister pack (which is a pain to open, and you need to be careful not to cut your fingers).
The price you have mentioned is of Corsair Voyager 16GB NON GT drive and not this reviewed GT product. And I second the Reviewer's view that this drive is not value for money. Get the non gt version for a lot less (Rs. 1.5K).
Both GT and Non GT versions are MLC based hence, not worth it. If the GT version was SLC then, it would have rocked.
This drive is actually priced on street at 1550 Rs. Its is amazingly fast and even the normal corsair voyager in 8gb variety is usable for ready boost.
