Shake the phone to increase volume or shuffle tracks; sweep your palm over the screen to turn on/off alarm functions
Sony Ericsson today announced its latest addition to the Walkman line-up of phones, the W508, featuring a flip design.
The W508 is a complete music device featuring external music keys, gesture controls, and of course the Walkman music player. On the design front, it features removable external covers and will be available in a plethora of colors. The gesture controls of the phone include a feature where you can shake the phone to increase the volume or shuffle the tracks. A sweep of the palm over the screen can turn on/off the alarm functions. TrackID and SensMe also find their way into the list of features.
The phone sports a 3.2 megapixel camera and Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP. The international version of the phone will have quad band and will support GSM/EDGE and UMTS/HSDPA on the 2100MHz band. The W508a slated for the Americas will have additional UMTS/HSDPA support for the 850 and 1900MHz bands.
The card comes with a 1GB Memory Stick M2 and an extra style-up cover.
