    Asus launches the netbook with 160GB HDD and 16GB SSD storage options and Brown, Champagne, and Graphite color options

Asus has unveiled the Eee PC S101 in India. The netbook will now join the Eee family. The Eee PC S101 features a 10.2-inch WXVGA LED backlit display, an Intel Atom processor, a 1GB DDR2 RAM, and offers storage options of either a 160GB HDD or a 16GB SSD. The S101 is currently priced at Rs. 27,990 (excluding taxes).

The slim form factor of the S101 netbook makes it easier to carry around. Asus adds a fashion aspect to S101 by offering it in three colors - Brown, Champagne, and Graphite. Asus bets on the Super Hybrid Engine technology to provide the battery a longer life.

The price point will make it difficult for people to decide on this Eee PC version or other options like MSI Wind, Dell Mini 9, Lenovo S10, and others available in the market because of the competitive prices of the latter products. The netbook's pricing and the features offered don't go hand-in-hand, which has puzzled consumers who had expected a lot more features.
