After HP's gaming hardware division Voodoo made lot of folks  Envy them, yet another prototype from them was spotted. Dubbed as "HP Firefly with Voodoo DNA , Todd Haselton of Laptop got his hands on the Voodoo Firefly gaming laptop prototype that was capable of making any one drool with its unusual design. Weighing 13-pounds, Firefly has 17.1-inch display with secondary display and a multitouch trackpad placed next to the keypad.

Voodoo Firefly packs 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad processor, 4GB RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3870 GPUs running in CrossFireX mode, 250GB HDD with 7200 RPM and the spec sheet mentioned that the system is overclockable. The system reportedly ran Far Cry 2 smoothly, ,which proves its prowess. With 17.1-inch 1920x1200 display, a small 800x480 display resides just below it. The small screen works are secondary display, which can be used for checking mails or other functions while gaming.

Another distinct feature is that a multitouch trackpad is located to the right of keyboard. Our in-house game-specialist Navneet immediately pointed out that the multi-touch keypad could be a pain for left-handed gamers, so true.

Firefly features Creative s X-Fi technology, featuring support for 5.1 surround sound speaker and Dolby sound. Darkness won t be an issue as Firefly has backlight keypad and also a night vision webcam.

Voodoo has packed the beastly elements to woo gamers. Overclockable hardware, secondary display, aptly placed multitouch trackpad, backlit keyboard and X-Fi technology in one single laptop makes it an exciting package. Taking these factors into consideration, the estimated price of this killer gaming machine could be above $4,000 (approx. Rs. 1,92,000).

Check out the Voodoo Firefly gallery here. Being a prototype, HP hasn t shared any price for the same and plans to launch it at CES 2009.
