  WWE 2009 is a a fairly good-looking game with top-notch presentation.

  Good presentation, Fast load times, Decent gameplay, Character customization.

  Tricky controls.

WWE or World Wrestling Entertainment is a major sporting event, a sport that has found a fan in almost all of us. The free-form fighting phenomenon has gripped the world for decades and although most of the famous WWE icons have aged more than fine scotch, the sport grows bigger and bigger. I have had my share of wrestling frenzy, backyard brawls, localized "Undertaker" memorabilia and Ultimate Warrior masks, but the safest and least expensive would have to be WWE games.

I am sure you have played games on the PS2/Xbox and PC, and had your share of fun, but there is little that can compare to Wrestling on the move. THQ Wireless has released a WWE game for mobiles. It's a complete game with more content than any other mobile game out in the market. It's a complete package with a huge roster of wrestlers, customization options as well as multiple game modes.

The game is called Smackdown vs Raw 2009, it features two major game modes called Career and Exhibition. As the names suggest, exhibition is a simple mode where you jump in and start fighting, while career will put you in the shoes of an upcoming wrestler. You will need to create a character and make him look unique as there are many customization options; body type, facial hair, fighting style and so on. After the initial customization is complete, you can begin playing. Do keep in mind the various stats while customizing your character like stamina, strength, charisma and so on. These affect your gameplay and hence remember to use the points wisely. The character you create in career, grows with each game, he gets stronger with every win, as you distribute the stat points earned.

The character can be used to play against superstars including John Cena, Triple H and Undertaker in the exhibition matches or you can use the default roster. Each superstar has a different finisher and fighting style, so there is immense replayability. The controls are mapped on the joystick as well as the keypads for easy access. The controls are a little hard to get used to, as each button has multiple functions. Tap 5 and you punch, keep 5 pressed and you punch harder, tap 5 at the right time and you counter an attack. The controls are a bit tricky but once you get used to them, the game is fun to play. There are a lot of moves in the game, including grapples, throws, high flying maneuvers and more. Don't expect a lot of flair and style from these pixilated moves, but for the platform they are developed on, they look great." " "

Now let's talk about the presentation and visuals of the game. These are aspects that one usually ignores in a mobile game, as they lack polish. To be honest mobile games are more about creativity and skilled gameplay than they are about visuals, but this is one department where Smackdown vs Raw doesn't disappoint. It's a fairly good-looking game, with top-notch presentation. I don't consider sound a criterion, as I never use sound when playing a mobile game.

Overall this is a game that a die-hard WWE fan will certainly enjoy, it has a lot of content and is quiet enjoyable.
