Canon Rolls Out New Cameras in India

Canon announced its latest ultra-zoom camera in its PowerShot SX10 IS lineup and two new additions in its IXUS range.
The new PowerShot SX10 IS features 20x optical zoom, 10-megapixel resolution, and new DIGIC 4 Image Processor for high-performance face and motion detection. The SX10 also features 24 shooting modes - supplementing its auto exposure options with the standard P/A/S/M manual exposure control modes.
Ultrasonic Motor (USM) and Voice Coil Motor (VCM) technology ensures near-silent operation. It also includes Canon's Advanced Tele-Converter for an extra 2x zoom. It offers full manual control over both aperture and shutter speed.
Other specifications include Speedlite EX flash units, a dedicated Print menu, and PictBridge.
The new members in the IXUS range are IXUS 980 IS and IXUS 870 IS.
The flagship 14.7 megapixel Digital IXUS 980 IS brings several "firsts" to the IXUS range - including manual control, a new design available in black as well as traditional IXUS silver.
The camera features new DIGIC 4 processor, optical Image Stabilizer technology, and Motion Detection technology. The IXUS 980 IS offers smooth, 30fps VGA video shooting, and can store up to 40 percent more footage to a memory card than its predecessor, the company claims. New additions include a Manual Mode that allows control of shutter speed and aperture. A second new mode - QuickShot - uses the optical viewfinder for framing and focusing, virtually eliminating shutter lag.
Other specs include Face Detection AF/AE/FE/WB, Face Select & Track, FaceSelf-Timer, and Auto Red-Eye Correction.
The 10 megapixel Digital IXUS 870 IS features a high-resolution 3.0" PureColor II LCD and comes finished in gold or silver. It also features DIGIC 4 processor, and a 4.0x wide-angle (28mm) 4x optical zoom. The IXUS 870 IS offers blur-free shots throughout the zoom range and in low-light conditions.
Other specifications include: Face Detection Technology, Face Select & Track, Motion Detection Technology, and 30fps VGA video shooting.
