Samsung has decided to re-enter the Indian market after a long hiatus with a slew of laptops and a netbook. The laptops are segregated into three different categories - premium, thin, and light: the X series, the Mobile Optimum; the Q series; and the affordable mainstream R series.

R460 and R610 belong to the affordable R series, which features an Intel Centrino 2 processor, a 512MB RAM (can be maxed up to 4GB), GeForce Go 9200M graphics, a high-capacity hard drive, HDMI, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, and a unique glossy touch design with black-to-red color gradation. R460 has a 14.1-inch screen, while R610 has a huge 16-inch LCD. The R610 even features a 17-key numerical keypad.

The prices for the R Series starts from Rs. 34,604 and goes up to Rs. 62,339.

The 13.3-inch Q310 concentrates on mobility and its specifications are identical to the higher-end R Series. It will sell for Rs. 61,694.

X Series comprises of the 13.3-inch X360 and 14.1-inch X460. These laptops are slim, light, and ooze style. On the specifications front, X360 features a Core 2 Duo processor, a 2GB RAM, a 128GB SSD, Intel GMA X4500 graphics, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and a host of security features.

On the other hand, X460 has specs similar to X360, but has a 3GB RAM, a GeForce Go 9200M GS GPU, and a 320GB hard drive.

The X Series laptop also features a rugged magnesium alloy chassis, an aluminum plate behind the LCD, a 'pebble' style keyboard, and other components, making these laptops really thin and lightweight.

X360 and X460 will sell for Rs. 115,014 and Rs. 80,614, respectively.

NC10, Samsung's only netbook, also made an entry into the Indian market. It has the standard netbook features like a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, a 1GB RAM, 160GB hard disk capacity, Bluetooth 2.0, a 1.3 megapixel camera, a 3-in-1 card reader, and Wi-Fi. It also has a high capacity 6-cell battery providing up to 8 hours of continuous usage facility.

The NC10 is priced at Rs. 28,477.
