Build & Design
The Altec Lansing FX 3022 is a beauty and the moment we spotted it on the company website we called for one to the test labs. I've never seen a better-looking speaker and I believe that it has such a presence that a brilliant LCD monitor may go unnoticed between these awesome speakers!

The FX 3022 is a set of two speakers. The design in nothing more than two cones - a large base tapering towards the top. The design resembles a windmill without the blades. Instead, there are 1.5-inch tweeters that jut out from either side making the speakers looks very unique.

The speakers, much to my surprise, are lightweight. I was expecting them to be pretty heavy considering the in-built 4-inch south firing sub-woofers at the base of each speaker. The speakers have several legs that have rubber at the bottom to prevent the speakers from vibrating and moving while blasting them.

However, since the speakers are light, it does vibrate quite a bit, especially when playing some heavy bass track. I had to use pieces of sponge to prevent the speakers from moving. This worked as an absorbent and the speakers sounded much better. I'd advice you to do the same thing if you do not want to see your speakers topple from your desktop!
