The OCZ Flex EX thermal management solution promises optimal balance between high speeds and low latencies
OCZ Technologies has introduced the new Flex EX memory series promising more performance capability and high speed memory configurations for users. It is available in DDR2 and DDR3 RAM modules. OCZ claims that DDR2-1200 has the highest speeds with the fastest DDR2 4GB kit.
Aimed at gamers and other consumers, the OCZ Flex EX thermal management solution promises optimal balance between high speeds and low latencies; high temperatures could damage the modules and even the motherboard. This thermal management is necessary for system stability and performance and for maximizing memory speeds when overclocking during high-end gaming.
The Flex EX memory series features the integrated liquid injection system found in Flex XLC (Xtreme Liquid Convention) series. The all-aluminum design provides the best option for running modules under water-cooled settings or passively. The Flex EX memory modules are offered in 4GB (2 x 2GB) dual-channel configuration for a wider bandwidth.
However, as per recent reports, high-speed RAM modules with a setting of over 1.65V can damage Intel Core i7 processors on Intel X58-based motherboards. OCZ offers a lifetime warranty on these Flex EX RAM modules. The pricing and availability details of the kits haven't been announced yet. We'll update you when we get to know about the same.
