A photograph of a document taken with your mobile phone camera is converted into print quality copy by Indifax
Indifax is a new service that allows you to use your mobile phone as a scanner / copier / fax machine to easily copy, store, or send any document.
After you register for the service, all you need to do is to take a photograph of a document with your mobile phone camera, and Indifax will convert the photo into a print quality copy that looks like a Xerox / scan of the original document. You can choose to store it in your on-line account or to send it directly to a fax machine or an email address. The entire process is software-less and quick.
Folks over at Indifax opine that the software will find use in applications that scan and save documents such as Driving Licenses, PAN Cards, Ration Cards, Passports, Insurance Papers, Deposit Receipts, etc.
Apart from these, the company also expects Indifax to be used within corporate circles. The aim is to digitize all documents and avoid transportation costs involved in sending out important documents physically. The digitized documents can be stored in a centralized server or location.
The service costs 499 INR for a year, which prima-facie seems to be a nominal charge.
That's oh! so funny! The picture illustrating your post shows the logo of Realeyes3D. I believe this is the company that is behind Qipit (www.qipit.com), which to my knowledge was the first mobile copy service back in 2005. So, what is Indifax about? Doing the same than Qipit, but asking uninformed users to pay for it? Not sure where the value is: Qipit is free. And it works much better imho. Go check out www.qipit.com, you'll be glad you did.
