Intel promotes netbooks as most are powered by Intel's Atom processors; Net Yatra planned in B and C class cities
Intel is going to considerable lengths to promote a new phenomenon - the netbooks. It's not that they love the new form factor, but the fact that most of the netbooks are powered by their Atom processors makes them special for Intel. Anyways, keeping their marketing motives aside, Intel's take on netbook prices will bring cheer to the hearts of consumers.
Sandeep Aurora, Sales & Marketing Group Director for South Asia, Intel, says that netbook prices will soon range around Rs. 17,000 since Acer, the current leader, has reduced the price of its Aspire One to Rs. 17,999. Such a move is sure to garner consumer interest.
Intel will also start an initiative to explain the benefits of its Atom processor to end-users as well as channel partners.
A 'Net Yatra' will also be conducted, which will have Intel-powered notebooks and netbooks on display. The Yatra will be conducted in B and C class cities.
