Your woes concerning high SMS tariff as well as frequent call drops on your mobile phone should be addressed in the near future.

To safeguard consumer interest, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) had requested telecom operators in India, almost a year ago, to bring down SMS tariff as well as fix the call drop issue that has been recurring on mobile phones.

Even after continual requests to the telecom operators for almost a year now, the issue is still pending. Now, TRAI chairman Nripendra Misra has notified telecom operators that there will be government intervention in case the issues are not dealt with expeditiously.

Misra said, "If telcos do not act, we will float a consultation paper soon in this regard."

We all have experienced call drops; their frequency has been increasing. The subscriber is the loser when this happens as he has to pay for the entire minute.

To address this issue, the government is pushing for the "pay-per-use" plan, which means, a second-based pulse system for calculating mobile bills. The implementation of such a plan should bring down a subscriber's bill amount.

"pay-per-use" will be very helpfull......it will save loads of money........to cut down the tariff it is the right time to implement a second based pulse system
