The first image of Nvidia's next dual GPU graphics card dubbed as GeForce GTX 295 has emerged on the web. The image has been put up by VR-Zone. The GeForce GTX 295 is expected to be launched at the Consumer Electronics Show 2009. As we had reported last week, Nvidia was busy prepping up the new GTX 295 with a new graphics accelerometer powered by adding two GeForce GTX 200-series GPUs.
The new GTX 295 graphics card will consist of two PCBs (printed circuit boards) with each of the GeForce GTX processors with 898MB GDDR3 video memory being connected to the GPUs through a 448-bit memory bus. According to Expreview, the dual-GPU card will have 480 (240 stream processors x 2GPUS) stream processors, and it won't have the 55nm process technology built GTX 260 core 216 chips.
From the image, it is visible that the card carries two DVIs and one DisplayPort. The power requirement for this card is still not accurately calculable, but Expreview states that the card will have a total power consumption of 289W. This card will directly compete with the ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2.
There are reports that Nvidia will launch GeForce GTX 295 on 8th January, the first day of the CES 2009. Until it is formally announced, it's difficult to say when it will hit the India market. Do tell us at what price point you would like this card to be pegged at?
