O2 has updated its website with details regarding its new handset, the XDA Flint - suggesting an imminent launch. The Flint, which happens to be O2's branded version of the HTC Advantage X7510, is a (weird) cross between the ubiquitous mobile phone and a laptop. Its design ensures that it straddles the two segments very effectively. It however remains to be seen if that feature will be of any help. The device is too large for a mobile phone and too small to be considered a laptop - or even a netbook for that matter.
The X7510 happens to be a successor to the earlier iterations of the X7xxx series from HTC. These devices come with a large (by mobile phone standards) 5-inch display and a host of connectivity options.
The X7510 was first seen almost a year ago in February at the Mobile World Congress. The device retains the design features of the Advantage series, with some new additions. Most noticeable is the memory, which has been doubled; it's 16GB now. Connectivity options remain the same, except for the addition of a 3.5mm audio port. As for OS, Flint will run on Windows Mobile 6.1.
O2 has not released any details on pricing or availability.
