Netbooks are generally under-spec'ed than conventional laptops. But this MIPS powered Alpha 400 goes below the norm and still carries the netbook badge.

The 7-inch netbook has a MIPS XBurst CPU running at a paltry clock speed of 400 MHz, Linux OS, 128MB RAM and 1GB NAND Flash storage. Users can expand the storage space up to 160GB via an external HDD or up to 32GB via SD cards.

Ethernet and Wi-Fi fulfill the connectivity side while there are 3 USB ports, headphone/microphone in and battery life providing up to 5 hours in a single charge. It is selling at Geeks for $190 (Rs. 9,360).

A decent and cheap choice if you're considering for quick internet surfing on the move.

I bought a Alpha 400 and think it is really cool. All programs run with good speed on the computer. It feels sturdy. I am very satisfied with the unit. The WI - FI works well. This is a great unit for internet and e-mail and word processing. I use mine to store technical docs and surf the internet
