Tata Teleservices (TTSL), which owns the 'Tata Indicom' brand, has collaborated with Nokia Siemens Networks for its pan-India GSM network rollout. This partnership will allow Nokia Siemens Networks to manage the GSM network that Tata Indicom plans to deploy over a period of five years.
Tata Indicom, with a base of 30 million consumers to its advantage, is one of the largest telecom service providers in the country. It has been providing CDMA-based services to its customers and is now on the verge of launching their GSM services.
Nokia Siemens Networks will be responsible for GSM services across a majority of TTSL's 22 telecom circles in India.
