Features

As said, the Olympus SP-565 UZ comes with a 10 MP CCD, a 20x optical zoom and features Dual Image Stabilization. Combined with the 5x digital zoom, the Olympus 565 UZ offers a full 100x zoom capability.
Dual Image Stabilization consists of Sensor-Shift Image stabilization combined with high ISO sensitivity and fast shutter speeds capture crisp, clear images even if the subject is moving.
The Face Detection mechanism is capable of tracking up to 16 faces and automatically focuses and optimizes exposure for optimal quality portrait pictures. The Smile Shot feature of the camera automatically detects and captures 3 continuous frames when a subject smiles.
Those who want to capture action shots won't be disappointed either; the SP-565 UZ can capture 30 shots at a burst rate of up to 13.5 fps, only at 3MP though, which is disappointing. Pre-Capture feature automatically archives ten frames at 3 MP as soon as the focus is locked to help capture the perfect shot. The camera also features a Panorama mode that captures three images and stitches them together to create a single panoramic picture automatically.
Apart from all these, the Olympus SP-565 UZ features 29 preset shooting modes as well as the PASM modes for those who like to experiment with the camera. ISO sensitivity ranges from 50 to 6400 and can be controlled automatically or manually.
Exposures are determined using the Digital ESP multi-pattern metering; users wanting to experiment can tweak their exposure with +/-2.0EV of exposure compensation, in 1/3EV steps. Shutter speeds range from 15 seconds to 1/2000 second. The Olympus SP565 also includes an eight mode internal flash plus a hot shoe for external flash strobes.
The camera also offers a whole lot of customization options but they seemed buried too deep in the confusing menu system, which makes it a daunting task to experiment when shooting in any of the PASM modes.
TheSP-565 UZ allows you to capture movie at VGA (640x480) or lower resolutions at 30 frames per second in both NTSC / PAL video formats. Connectivity options include a USB 2.0 port and Audio/Video Output.
It comes with 48 MB of built-in memory and supports xD-Picture Card, microSD memory cards for storage. On-camera editing options include red-eye and contrast correction of photos. The best part about the camera is the fact that it uses 4 AA batteries for power.
