Airtel Broadband and landline users enjoy internet bill facility
That's correct! While it might come as a surprise to some, Airtel broadband and landline customers did not have the option pay their bills through an online account management portal until now.
While mobile subscribers have been using this facility since 2004, Airtel's broadband and landline customers had to pay bills by cash, ECS, cheque or standing instructions. However, this will not continue any longer.
Airtel broadband and landline subscribers will now be able to register themselves for the 'Airtel Self care' online account management service and access their account information, bill details and many other services and information online. These include viewing the last four bills, getting unbilled usage details, making
bill payments through credit and debit cards, subscribing to the monthly e-bill service, segregating personal calls, viewing bill analysis and summary, placing online requests/complaints.
To Techtree News Staff,
Are you on crack?? i've been paying airtel landline+dsl bills online from the beginning of 2006 when i got the connection... you guys r not even funny anymore!
@Rahul Srinivasm, good yaar! Im sure u as much as i, dont want techtree to relegate into a gimmicky tech site. Hope u bring the "perpetrators of false information" to "swift and interminable justice" ;)
Ravindu, while i agree with u on that.... its still very amateurish and silly on the part of the editorial staff to not even check what the bufoons from the news team put up on their website.
Umesh, I am the person who wrote this article. I have been trying to get through to the person who sent us the Press Release about the launch. However I have had no response from him yet. I too have been using the Online account mamagement portal for my mobile phone account for years now and the press release did come as a surprise. However, I do agree with you on the part that the artice could be a tad clearer regarding the "jurisdiction" where the facility has been announced for.The only reason I did not mention the whole of south India is because of the confusion regarding what the exact area where this PR is applicable to (if any) actually is. I am still trying to get a confirmation regarding this and will update the story as soon as I get a response.
Thank you for your feedback.
