    Samsung SyncMaster T220

The SyncMaster T220 is the latest addition to Samsung's LCD monitor line up and is sure to embellish your desktop.

Great design, Good contrast and color details, Sharp picture quality.

Dynamic contrast preset is a bad experience, HCR test fail, Feels too bright at times, Stand is wobbly, A bit expensive.

Having impressed everyone with great looking televisions, Samsung has now taken to making great-looking monitors. It does make sense to do that, especially since the number of brands and models of LCD monitors have grown a lot in the past few months.

What we need now is not just another LCD monitor but something that enhances your desktop even when it's turned off. The SyncMaster T220 is the latest addition to Samsung's LCD monitor line up that is designed to do just that.

Design

The T220 features a Touch of Color bezel like the L6 series of Samsung LCD TVs. It has a clear plastic cover laminated over a black bezel that has subtle red highlights along the bottom edge. This design looks great and gives it a more sophisticated look.

The touch sensitive power button is placed at the bottom left corner of the bezel and gives off a nice red glow, enhancing the ToC bezel even more.

The plastic base is oval and is prone to wobble and doesn't swivel as well. It does tilt backwards by about 30 degrees though; not sure how helpful that is. The OSD buttons are placed to the right side of the monitor, invisible from the front.

The back of the monitor is all glossy and houses a VGA (D-Sub) and a DVI-D port, as well as the power input for the monitor.

Dell's SP2208WFP is better performer compared to T220. And it comes wth 2 MP webcam, 4 usb port it just lacks in look. Its cost is around Rs.16.5 K.

I can't seem to purchase it even at rs. 15.5k, atleast get the pricing right. Tho it's a drawback dat it doesnt come wid a DVI Port, it's still a grt TFT.

The BenQ E2200HD is a better buy at Rs. 12,500. It's fullHD as well, which the Samsung isn't. I heard from a source that the earliest possible time that Samsung would introduce fullHD monitors in India would be Q2, 2009, and probably much later.
